Of recent I have been using my cell phone (Ideos) as a source of internet Wi-Fi, I tried running VPN set up on my laptop but I am getting an error when connecting.
Anyone with idea how this works? I am not tech person and this bugs me a lot, given that there are some accounts I can't log into in my house, I have to use my computer in the office.
Click Start then on Control Panel. Right-click on Administrative Tools and then double-click configure your server wizard to initiate server wizard.
Next click on custom configuration, click next and then VPN Server and click next.
Move on and then click on run the routing and remote access server setup wizard to start routing and VPN and then click next.
Click on Virtual Private Network (VPN) Access and NAT on configuration page and click next. Select the network interface that will connect your computer to the Internet on virtual private network connection page.
Ensure that the Enable Security on selected interface by setting up basic firewall box is checked in the Network Interfaces page and click next. Exit the automatic option selected on the IP address assignment page and then click next.
You as well exit the enable basic name and address services option you had selected on the address assignment range page and click next. Finally exit the no, use routing and remote access to authenticate connection requests selected on the managing multiple remote access servers page. Click next.
Check that you have the correct network interface entered that connects your computer to the internet i. e. Wi-Fi on your Ideos. Verify that IP addresses will be assigned from the correct range and that dial-up and VPN clients are assigned to your private network for addressing within the Completing the Routing and Remote Access Server Setup Wizard page.
Click "Back" to modify any information; otherwise, if you have confirmed that the data is correct, click "Finish" and then click "OK." View the selections you have implemented by clicking "Configure Your Server Log." Click "Finish" to exit out of the Configure Your Server wizard. You have now set up a VPN remote access server on your phone.
