I am using a HP laptop and utilising two OS simultaneously through VMWare, hence distributing the RAM between both OS, but now I have realized that both OS are working very slow, is it something to do with the version of OS, because I am using the most basic versions of both OS, I am just curious to know the internal architecture of different OS through VMWare?

If you run 2 operating systems simultaneously and it is performing very slowly right now, maybe you don’t maintain your computer properly. One major cause of system slowness is a heavily fragmented hard drive. As you use your computer the files that the operating system accesses get fragmented. So, if you are using your computer everyday, this puts the files on the system drive more and more fragmented.

To improve the performance and speed up everything, defragment your computer. If one of your operating systems is Microsoft Windows, use Disk Defragmenter to defragment your hard drive. To open Disk Defragmenter, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select Disk Defragmenter. But before you defrag your hard drive, you should clean your drive first for any unwanted files.

You can use Disk Cleanup to clean your drive. To open it, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select Disk Cleanup. Select drive C then click OK. Check all sections that consume space then click OK and then click Delete Files. Run defrag after this and it should speed up your system.
