Hi all,

My problem is, when I start installing VMware Workstation version 7.1.0 or version7.1.2, I came to face a gray window and then nothing.

I tried to start the installation as administrator, disable Firewall, change the compatibility options, but the problem is the same.

I confess that, I do not really know what to do. Hope you could help me.

Thank you in advance.

Hello

There may be some reasons for those who have this problem. It is possible that the registry is damage, missing files, a video resolution problem or others. First you have to check the log file. See log file location, click here. Now check if you have this error log file

  • 20100902170704:Error * CHtmlDialog:CallJScript: failed to get the ID required required JScript; COM Error: – 2147352570
  • To resolve this problem, open the command prompt: click Start > run > cmd > enter
  • If your PC is 32 bit / x 86 windows type this command:
  • regsvr32 jscript.dll
  • regsvr32 vbscript.dll
  • If your PC is 64 bit / x 64 windows type this command:
  • cd C:windowssyswow64
  • regsvr32 C:windowssystem32jscript.dll
  • regsvr32 C:windowssystem32vbscript.dll

Restart WINDOWS, and try again to install the VMWare.
If still no luck, try this.

  • run the installation from a folder empty (only installation package should be there)
  • Be sure not to block the AV (better disable all antivirus and firewall)
  • Make sure that there are no any process running as webcam.exe or fixcamera.exe
  • run the installation package from the command line by using the addition of: action/z = install
  • go to the registry key

HKEY CURRENT USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet SettingsZones
and delete key L (make a backup first)
Or if you have an old version of VMWare below:

  • To uninstall any previous version, navigate to C:WindowsInstaller
  • Add the 'Authors' column and sort by she
  • One file .msi with which an author of 'VMware'
  • Double click and follow the uninstall steps
  • To install the new version, run cmd.exe as administrator and do:

CD-archivo – installation directory
installation-file.exe /e tempfolder
CD TempFolder
run the .msi file (vmware workstation.msi)

When I got the same problem then I try to solve it by disabling the fire wall and then I disable my antivirus also the program was installed fully but it make my PC stuck, and I then reinstall all of my system. In your case it looks like this condition that your software contains some virus, and it is not just the VMware workstation.

Make sure you are not infected by such virus because it harms every directory in window and you need to install t again.

So I say you to install it in safe mode or arrange a backup point  before installing it.

You can buy a new one or you can arrange one from NET, although I think that there is no problem in your PC the problem is just in the software VMware.

You can also install it in a safe mode to make a check for that. But make sure the anti virus and anti spam is active.

But it will be a better solution to install it from a trusted medium.
