I am currently using VLC player for my videos. It is quite an excellent player. I have used this player for about seven days but it keeps prompting me with this text “the latest version of this video cannot be identified”. I do not have a clue on how to go about this text. Can someone please help me out?

There must be something wrong with the video that you are trying to play. But if you are getting this error on every video then I say that you must reinstall the VLC.

  1. Remove the VLC from your computer.
  2. Run Ccleaner  to clear the registries. If you have not downloaded Ccleaner download it from here.
  3. After that download the latest version of VLC from filehippo.com.
  4. Once downloaded install it and keep all the options as it is.
  5. After downloading when you first run it, it will ask you for two options. Uncheck both the boxes and run the VLC.
  6. Whenever you play the movie for the first time in VLC, it will start build font cache. Let it do the loading no matter how long it will take because it is very important and I think that you skipped this part that is causing the issue now.
