I have a problem with my VLC media player. Some of the movies that I play on my VLC players are working great, but some of them end up being like this:

I can still hear the sound and everything else, but the movie plays like its lagging and turns into something like the picture. How do I fix this?

Hi Melanie,

VLC player has a specific format to be played for movies. There are many classified input format such as the following: MPEG, AVI, ASF, MP4, OGG/OGM, REAL, WAV, RAW DV, RAW AUDIO, AND FLV. This are all the input format that VLC Player can do the task to play, seems it has a limit for other format to play. In some reasons, Other use a Total Video Player because it has many capable input format that can be played in all video/movies to play in this player. I suggest to use this Player.

Hope it will help you a lot.

VLC player is usually heavy and it requires high specifications to run properly. Which windows version are you running and what specifications of RAM and processor do u have??

If everything is ok then check the video file type which you are trying to play. And then check the settings of your VLC player that it is compatible with that type of file or else you need to upgrade it or reinstall it with full access.

Sometimes there may be the problem of VGA or Video driver that it can't support VLC player completely. so also try to upgrade your drivers.

Hello Melanie,

VLC plays most multimedia files. If you are facing such problem, at this situation, you just check out with your video card whether it is doing fine.  If it is corrupted then just replace the video card with the new one with more memory. If Video card are fine than reinstall the VLC player that you are using with the latest and updated one.

Some time it happens that the screen pixels are not of the best quality. If you have to increase the screen resolution of the screen, which might have been decreased then just, increase it and your resolution.

Enjoy,

Abedin
