Hello all! I wanted you to provide me a solution to my problem. I had this error when I attempted to create a new project in Visual Basic 2008 Express. Here’s what I did, I opened Visual Basic 2008 Express and clicked File. I selected New Project and chose a template then clicked Ok. The error message below appears:

Could not load file or assembly Microsoft.Build.Engine

Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral,

PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependences;

The system cannot find the file specified.

Other details below:

Microsoft Visual Studio 2008

Version 9.0.30729.1 SP

Microsoft .NET Framework

Version 3.5 SP1

Installed Edition: VB Express

Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 91908-152-0000043-60980

Microsoft Visual Basic 2008

How to resolve this? I would appreciate your response. Thank you!

Are you using a trial pack? Then go for the premium one. Or that you have not installed the software completely. Reinsert the disk from which you have installed and then install additional components that are available with the product.

If you have already installed with the product then you can do the most is that you have mistakenly deleted some files from the installation directory, which were templates. Re-install the product. Many people use the illegal or manipulated software version. All the features are then available.

If you have not accidentally deleted the file then there must be an attack on your system which has corrupted it, or that the corrupt file is remover by your antivirus which was the template file. Thanks.
