There are some other ways to prevent the effect of virus through USB devices. For this you need to write protect the USB devices. You can easily do that. There are a lot of ways to write protect your USB device or drive. Let me tell you a few of them.
You can write protect your USB by using registry editor. To do this you need run the registry editor. You can easily do that by typing regedit in run command prompt. You need to browse HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key to do this. You need to go to the control of this key. For this browse the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM Current Control Set Control.
Now create a new key named as Storage Device Policies under the Control tree. Highlight the created key and then create a new DWORD (32 bit) value named as WriteProtect and set its value to 1. Now your drives (USB) are writing protected. If you want to do the vice versa than just set the value to 0.

In this way you can protect your computer from the effect of virus.

Hi! Jack,

It’s highly recommended for any PC user to have an Antivirus program on their computer, especially at your end, if you are using a device that has a faster rate of transferring of data and also the virus. If the problem is slowing the performance of your PC when you install some Antivirus program, then why don’t you upgrade the RAM (memory) of your computer?

Hope this info can help.
