Is it possible to scan computer through LAN without formatting it. And how safe will be the Documents in the said computer to be scanned?

Yes, It is possible to scan a computer through LAN without the computer being formatted as long as the virus scanner is installed in the computer that you will be scanned. But with regards to the document being deleted or corrupted, it is still depends if those files are not infected by the virus because if those files are corrupted by a trojan or worm then I think those files will be considered for deletion.

Yes its possible to scan files through a local area network. However, the directory which is being scanned has to have its properties set to allow read and write permissions. If the write permission is not set to allowed then you can only scan and detect the viruses but they will not be removed/cleaned. Depending on the antivirus settings, the infected files may be moved to the antivirus quarantine directory from where they can be retrieved if need be. However some settings in the antivirus software allow for permanent deleting of infected files. Check your antivirus settings before you go ahead with scanning.

Scanning within local network is safe and very important operation , don't worry about any scanner but , i advice you to use advanced LAN scanner that will enable you and easy using and follow the video for using it
