Hi experts,

I have been having this error message for a long time. It appears whenever i try removing or renaming a file/folder in windows.

The error message is:

"cannot delete xxx(filename/folder). It is being used by another person or program"

Another error message is:

"Cannot delete files: Access is denied, There has been a sharing violation etc."

I need a solution.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi,

You can go through the following points to recover the problem of deleting or renaming a file/folder in Windows:

1. While running a program, several temporary files are created at their own. These temporary files cannot be deleted until the program is turned off. You may try to delete them stopping all the running programs. To ensure this event you may go to Run › recent and delete them all. You may also go to Run › prefetch, Run › temp and delete them all.

2. You cannot rename your desired folder/file. These files/folders may be corrupted with Virus. Make sure that your Antivirus is updated. Scan your computer with an updated Antivirus. Even you can change the current version of your Antivirus.

I hope you understand it.

Thanks

Hi there ,

Its weird to see the screenshot. Virus is playing dance on your PC. Very sad to say that Huge loads of Malwares and or Viruses are Playing with your system. You must be very careful while using External devices to install Softwares and other stuffs and also while using Network.

Its really horrible and tough to fight with viruses and only a PC expert geek could do remove SOME of the common viruses. Better install a GOOD Antivirus and or Internet security.

I personally Recommends Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. It works great. It catches almost all the viruses and also very smooth to operate. What problem kaspersky has till its 2011 versions was slow updates. Now they have solved the problem.

Go try download the trial version and try it for 30 days and if and only if you liked then buy the license for 1 year.

Good luck.

Thanks TechyV,

I followed what you said and also updated my anti-virus. And I discovered some Malwares in my machine. Thank you Gabrielle Bocha and Lesten Pasio for your help.
