What's so special about the virtual TV from Intel? What are the unique features of this virtual TV that Intel is planning to launch? What will make this virtual TV competitive? If this virtual TV is really special, how come Intel has not found any partner yet?
Virtual TV from Intel Ready to Launch?
Intel the major microchip maker in the world has been developing a virtual cable service that can identifies the faces of the viewers called facial-recognition technology to detect their gender, age and other useful information helpful for advertising. This service is going to be delivering a very limited number of television networkers to the cable tv subscribers. This virtual tv service or smart tv technology would be available through a set-top box which was developed by Intel. The concept behind this technology is to provide user specific advertising which benefits both viewer and the advertiser. But still Intel can not launch this technology because of the outstanding agreements with the cable and satellite providers avoiding them from licensing networks to a virtual cable system.
