I just got this error message using Virtual DJ and the error says “Error in the ASIO sound driver. Your sound card is probably not connected, OR the settings are incorrect”. I just checked the sound driver and working properly. What could be the cause of this error? Help me!

Thanks in advance.

Hello Miguel,

Errors of ASIO drivers with Virtual DJ are quite common. The main reason is due to wrong sound settings. Here is what you need to do. Go to the Config menu then click on sound setup. Confirm that the settings are ok for whichever sound card. Apply the changes. If you have an external sound card always ensure that its connected to the computer before starting the Virutal DJ program.

N.B always check if you have the latest drivers installed

That error might indicate a problem with your sound card. Try to uninstall and reinstall your sound card driver. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install. Once installed, start Revo then select your sound card software among the applications and click “Uninstall.” Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then restart the computer. After booting, install your sound card driver back. If you haven’t updated yet, download the latest version. You can get it from the manufacturer’s website.

See the following list of computer manufacturers:

If this doesn’t work, try to uninstall and reinstall VirtualDJ. Use Revo to uninstall VirtualDJ. If the problem continues, try downloading the latest. Go to the VirtualDJ homepage and download the latest version. VirtualDJ is free for personal or home use. The latest version at the moment supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.

For Mac, it supports macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks, 10.10 Yosemite, 10.11 El Capitan, 10.12 Sierra, 10.13 High Sierra, 10.14 Mojave, and 10.15 Catalina.
