Video Cards, upgradation of Geforce

Before you call the dealer, check your system first. You did not clearly state how the video card stopped functioning. Try opening your CPU case then remove the device from the slot.

Be sure to turn off the computer before doing this to avoid any damage to the device. After removing the hardware from the slot, plug it again then restart the computer.

See if it works. If it doesn’t, uninstall the video card’s driver in the Add or Remove Programs then restart again the computer. See if Windows detects the video card when Windows starts.

If it doesn’t, turn off the computer again then transfer the video card to the other slot. Start again the computer and see if Windows can detect the hardware now.

Install the driver when it prompts you to install the software for the newly detected device. After installing its driver, monitor your system if the video card will keep on working.

You may also check NVIDIA’s web site at http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html and check for a new update on its driver or a patch maybe.
