i used tor a lot and then exited it. After i went to use it again it said vidaliya detected tor exited unexpectedly and after checking log following was shown Sep 20 21:51:53.724 [Notice] Tor v0.2.2.37 (git-fce6eb1c44e87bc2). This is experimental software.

Do not rely on it for strong anonymity. (Running on Windows 7 [workstation]) Sep 20 21:51:53.724 [Notice] Initialized libevent version 2.0.19-stable using method win 32. Good. Vidalia detected that tor exited unexpectedly

To resolve that issue, you will need to do the following:

  • Uninstalled Tor, and then restart the computer and then search for Tor.
  • You will find a Config text file for an early version of Tor in the Windows directory.
  • You will need to rename the file tor.old and then restart the computer..
  • After that Tor should work just fine.
