In the last five days I am having a problem with my computer. Suddenly it became very slow. I can't work with it in a usual way. Even the mouse cursors runs very slow. Start menu doesn't work. But when I scanned virus with Norton 2010 antivirus it can't find any viruses! Then what is my problem?

Hi,

Solution:

Although you having a virus scanner for as long as it is not updated, then there are many tendency that your virus scanner cannot detect those spywares and trojan viruses in your computer especially when you use an internet frequently.

Update your virus scanner and check again if you find one.

Restart your computer and press F8
Choose start windows normally or safe mode.

Reinstall your Operating System
Restart your computer insert OS CD once the CD detected it installs automatically the OS, just follow those instruction.
You need to install those drivers for your motherboard so prepare your CD or if it was misplaced then you can download on the internet. Type the motherboard on any of the search Engine available if it is located then download it and install.
If it is not working then reformat your PC and install OS. Repeat this process until it becomes successfully installed.

Thanks,

Did you install any application in the past few days? Some the reasons as to why your computer is slowing down are as follows:

  • You may have installed an application that took up a lot of the computer's space and therefore slowing down the computer's processing speed, and in that case you might need to remove the application.
  • It could be possible that your computer is running on low memory and therefore you will need to upgrade it the RAM capacity so that when you install other applications, the computer will not slow down.
  • It may also be due to a virus attack. Although you have scanned the system already, some viruses can be hard to be found and therefore I will recommend that you get a malware antimalware application and use it to scan your system and see if it can capture some viruses.
