Vaio E series touchpad Problem

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio E series and my problem is that, sometimes the touch pad of my laptop kind of acts funny. I mean sometimes it will not click (although I can hear the key make the click sound) or else it will not even move the mouse on screen. I have tried to clean the pad with little alcohol and cotton but still no effect.

Also I have updated the software and made sure my laptop has no viruses. Right now I am using an external USB mouse but will be grateful if someone can tell me what the problem is or how to correct it.

Sorry for the late response Jimmy.

What Operating System are you using? If you haven't changed your OS then you are using Windows 7 since it is the default OS for the whole series. Touchpad problems with E series are quite common. Just go to your Control Panel, type "Mouse" on search and then select "Change Mouse settings". On the "Pointer Options", Check the "Enhance Pointer Precision".

If this does not work, bring your laptop to a Sony Service Center. I have a friend with a problem like your. She also has a Vaio, different series though. Her problem was caused by the hardware itself. I hope your laptop has warranty.

It seems that the signals which are produced by the touchpad are not identified or not clear to recognize to your laptop. First you have to update your drivers or reinstall your system.

If those options didn’t work then there must be an error in the circuit of the touchpad. Repair it before the situation get worst.
