I studied that using Mac Mountain Lion we can do a time machine backup to a network share on Windows Home Server 2011, by creating an image file via Disk Utility that would be placed on the network share, but it will be mounted as a regular disk in Mac. Has anyone tried using WHS with Mountain Lion. If it is practical, please give a detailed process of doing the same.
Using WHS with Mountain Lion
Yes, it is practical to use mac mountain lion on Windows Home Server 2011,but also note in Mac you can’t create the disk image directly to the share folder. You can only create the image on an external hard drive and then drag the sparse bundle over to the folder that you have created on your server and then follow the directions. I hope this information helps.
