Hi guys,

I recently found out that it is possible to integrate the NNTP protocol with outlook which will allow me to access newsgroups since outlook does not have a newsreader, I know that it is possible to add a news button to your tool bar which acts as a link to outlook express but I would like to have newsgroups and the ability to read news.

If anyone can please assist me on this I would really appreciate it.

Hello Beeky,

No, it is false. Because the NNTP protocol doesn’t integrate with outlook and it don’t allow you to access newsgroups. You know that Outlook Express (Windows Live Mail) handles newsgroup but Outlook doesn’t handle.

Though Outlook doesn’t support NNTP protocol to read newsgroup, but you can implement this feature by installing an add-ons named NNTP for Outlook. As a result, you have to create NNTP account to download messages and send post to newsgroups.

To know more and more you can this important forum. Forum link: Outlook and NNTP

Thanks
