Currently I am using google drive, through which I share files with my contacts. You can share multiple folders between multiple people or one folder between multiple people etc.
When the files get altered in any way the files get updated on all the computers automatically.
If you do not want to share the folder but just want to send some files to someone else, you have the option of sending the other person a "download link".
They can then download the files but won't be able to delete or alter the files in the DropBox folder.
