       Yes you can update TED notepad if you want to or if there is newer available version of it. But about adding new text fonts to it, I don't think so. The font that this notepad uses is the font installed on your computer.  So if you want to add some new font, you need to install it to control panel (Control panel-> Fonts).  But there are lots of features that TED Notepad offers that ordinary notepad cannot do; like undo or redo as many times as you can, swap text, insert recently deleted text, insert time and date etc. You may check those available features offer by it.
