Upgrading to Cygwin 1.7.1. trouble

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to upgrade Cygwin to 1.7.1 and I’ve encountered a problem during the process. The error message I’m getting is this:

arm-eabi-gcc.exe – Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point__ctype_ptr__ could not be located in the dynamic link library cygwin1.dll.

OK

Does anyone have any solutions to this one?

I would be very grateful for any posted comments.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Mia jr.,

A pleasant day to you. All you need to do to solve your issue regarding cygwin1.dll is reboot your computer and run "setup.exe" again.

The postinstall that did not run will already be running in this process this time. You don't need to reinstall any packages unless you ignored any of the messages you got and allowed the poinstall scripts to continue running. This is all what I've done when I encountered that error and after doing the process, I have successfully updated cygwin1.dll.

I hope that it will help you solve your problem to. I'll be glad if you'll let me know what happened after you try my solution.

Thanks and have a great day!
