Upgrade to Mountain Lion in iMac giving error

I upgraded recently to Mountain Lion on my iMac. But whenever I startup, I get a message to enter my name and password to connect as a guest or registered user. Why is this happening I want to know pls and what can be done about it? How can I find the script where this is being launched at the start up? Any advice to solve this will be welcome. Thanks
