Hi,

I have a an excel document that has 300 rows and 80 sets of data. I want to have the data represented before and after in a graph format. My aim is to create the graph side by side and then have a drop down for indicating the sample. I also want to update the before and after graph. Please assist me on this. Thank you.

Hi,

To represent excel data into a graph format you just need to follow some steps.

1.       Open your excel document or chart that you want to change format.

2.       Now drag and select all those rows and columns that you have (300 rows and 80 sets of data) .

3.       Now go to Chart Tools, adding the Design, Layout, and Format tabs.

4.       Here on design tab click on graph view. Many graph view demo will appear.

5.       Now choose sweet able graph format for your chart.

At last you just need to save those data file as a excel document.

You can use Pivot Tables for this purpose. But you have to manage separate Pivot tables for each set and then finally merge these tables in one Table. After that you will also able to have it side by side and can also apply filters on different sections.

To apply the pivot table just customized your data according to the needs and click on any cell then navigate to INSERT > PIVOT TABLE > Insert Pivot Table Chart.

After getting the table you can use INSERT tab once again to get charts and graphs. You will be provided with the options like Line, Pie, Column, Area, Scatter and other chart options.
