Hi experts,

I am running Win 7 64bit.

I run using the "run as administrator" attribute.

I have stopped every other application before running the update.

This is a fully licensed version. Why I am getting this error when updating ATI Home 2011 from 6597 to 6697 and fails with error 1603. Can I fix this issue? Thanks for everything.

Error:

Acronis installation program encountered the error #1603: “ (0x10002)

Tag = 0xAD997C19487EB3379

Fatal error during installation (0xFFF0)

Code = 80070643)

Tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8BC”

A possible reason might be that you do not have enough privileges. Please check the installation troubleshooting section of the product documentation.

Hi William,
The error is because the installation folder is not encrypted.
To resolve the error follow the below steps:
1) Click 'My Computer', Click 'Properties'
2) In the 'Tools' menu, Click 'Folder Options'
3) Click 'View' tab, uncheck 'Use Simple File Sharing' checkbox
4) In the 'Security' tab, Click 'Add'
5) Select 'Users or Groups', in the Name field, Click 'System', Click 'OK'
6) In the 'Permissions' tab, Click 'Full Control', Click Advanced'
7) Click 'Replace permission entries on all child objects' checkbox, Click 'OK'
8) Run the windows installer package
