The error named SMTP error '554 5.1.2'  mostly occurs when a domain name or a domain server name is not identifiable by the DNS most SMTP error 512 conditions are caused by misspellings of the domain name part of a recipient email address. The first check you should perform to resolve a 5.1.2 reply code is to check all the recipient email addresses for incorrect domain names (misspell domain names, or, maybe, totally non-existent domain names) – remember, error code 512 is very specifically an error with the domain name of one of the recipient email addresses. Kindly check if you are making some spelling mistakes If this is not the case then there must be a problem with your service provider DNS

I guess you are using an email client like Microsoft Office Outlook to receive your emails coming from your hotmail account. If this is the case, the problem can be located somewhere in between or possibly in the end. If you are pushing all of your email messages from your hotmail account to a software installed on your computer that handles email messages such as Microsoft Office Outlook, you need to have a paid account in hotmail so the webmail server will allow the messages to be pushed to your email client.

If you are using a free account in hotmail, then I guess it won’t happen. You will not be able to push your hotmail messages to your email client. When you subscribe to hotmail upgrading it from free to paid account, they will give you the steps on how to push the messages to your email client software. In Yahoo!, when a user upgrades a free account to paid account, the site provides the necessary steps in pushing the messages to the user’s own email client and will ask the user to download a specific program that will aid in the process.
