Unlock Mac after remote lock

My Mac's screen is showing a lock icon, while I am remotely controlling it from my home Mac using Apple Remote Desktop. It seems that, there is a bug of some kind that is causing the remote Mac's screen to stay locked, even after disconnecting it. Please advice on unlock Mac after remote lock.

Well the device may be locked due to your current passcode. In order to unlock Mac what you do is — reset this by switching the macbook off by pressing the power button. Then boot the computer by pressing Cmd+Alt+P+R. Keep holding down the keys and wait till the computer beeps twice.
