Understanding Exchange 2010 Mailbox Move Requests

qa-featured

Moving mailbox in Exchange means transferring the mail database from a source location to a destination location. There are two types synchronous and asynchronous move requests.

You can use the “MailboxImportRequest” for importing the different database and likewise for exporting the database use the “MaiboxExportRequest” command.

Advantages:

  • Different “.pst” files can be imported after move requests.
  • These different “.pst” files can be accessed from anywhere because they now reside in a centralized database.
