I just read that Reuters WordPress account accessed again unauthorizedly by some intruders.Â
Should I look into getting a different program and if so what would my other options be.

There are many concerns facing users of Word press CMS. I will give you some tips on helping make sure your site is more secure, and give you some alternatives.
1. The first thing you want to do concerning your site is to make sure it is up to date with all plug-ins and software. Over time Word press has come out with updates that help with security issues that have been found. There is a plug-in for Word press called "Bullet Proof Security" that is helpful with securing your site. (https://wordpress.org/plugins/bulletproof-security/)
2. Don't have a simple username, Admin as a username is a bad idea.
3. Make sure it can't be accessed publicly, try to make your access IP specific.
What you should use to do your website depends on what kind of website it is in the end. Word press, seems to me, to be on top of most of its security issues but there still could be problems. Other services such as Joomla or Drupal do the same thing, but with a different platform. You could look into those for alternatives if you have a site that you need content management software for.
I always say if you know how to code html and you don't have a blog, do an html page. If not stick with Word press or similar service.Â
