Hi all,

2 months ago I bought a new HP Pavilion g6-2210us with pre-installed Windows 7 on it. It was all working properly.

I just scanned the whole system by Norton Antivirus Software. In that it has shown that some problem with few programs along with Microsoft Security Essentials. So I deleted those programs along with Microsoft Security Essentials. After that I got a few updates for Windows. So I tried to update but it was updating up to 25% after that it is rejecting the update. My system became very slow. I checked all the drivers showing drivers are not up to date.

How can I resolve this issue? Can somebody help me out here, please? Thanks a lot in advance, guys!

Hello,

There are many ways to fix this issue. Follow them one by one.

Firstly, restart your PC and then try to install the latest updates. If this fails, then

1. Start Command Prompt with administrative privilege.

2. Run this command:
sfc /scannow

3. Run updating process.

There is also another tool for checking updates. Download System Update Readiness tool. After downloading, run the installation file and wait for finish. Then, restart PC and run update.

There might be also another cause that Windows Update Installer is corrupted. To fix so,

1. Start Notepad.

2. Paste the following lines into it.

REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUCLTUX.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUWEBV.DLL /S

REGSVR32 JSCRIPT.DLL /S

REGSVR32 MSXML3.DLL /S

3. Save it to desktop with file extension “.bat”.
