Unable to Run Update Bitdefender Error -1008

I have used Bitdefender Total Security 2009 for many years.

Lately, I have decided to upgrade to Total Security 2011 but this error is preventing me to do so:

An error occurred during the update (-1008)

An error occurred during the update (-1008). If the problem persists, please check our online support website at: https://www.bitdefender.com/

I don’t know if has anything to do with me reinstalling my Windows Vista x32 SP1 operating system (due to a system crash).

I have tried updating it manually with the downloads on the Bitdefender website, but I still can’t get it to work.

I also tried installing Bitdefender Total Security 2012, but the same error occurs.

Please help me as I really feel desperate to solve this issue.

Hi Jeff Mathie, after reading some forums I got this answer that may help you solve your problem.

You can download the Bitdefender 2013 it has a lot of new improvements and features and may also solve your issues from your older version of Bitdefender.

But before installing this one kindly check your system requirement at this link:

For you to upgrade your Bitdefender to this latest version, you need to uninstall the old version first using Bitdefender uninstall tool. It can delete       even the previous Bitdefender related to files.

1. Click the link provided above, save it and run it. Restart if you are required to.

Install now the latest version of Bitdefender using these links:

Antivirus Plus (2013)

Internet Security (2013)

Total Security (2013)
