Friends, I am a facing an odd error message when I try to view a word document in the office web apps. The error message indicates that it cannot open the document. If this happens, again try opening the document in Microsoft word. I tried to open it several times but I am not able to open it in Web apps. Please guide me to open it using Web apps. Your help is appreciated. Thank you.

Unable to open a word document in the Office web apps
Microsoft Word Web App or collectively Office Web Apps is now known as Office Online. It is an online office suite provided by Microsoft that lets a user edit or create files using web browser-based versions of the Microsoft Office applications. Office Web Apps was first introduced on October 2008 in Los Angeles at Professional Developers Conference [PDC] 2008.
It was in February 2014 when Office Web Apps was re-branded as Office Online which now includes Calendar, Outlook.com, People, and OneDrive aside from the original applications Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft OneNote. To use Office Online, you need to have a Microsoft account to login. In your case, since you cannot directly open the Word document from the source website with Microsoft Word Web App, try saving the file first to your local hard drive.
Once it is saved, there should be no problem opening it with Microsoft Word Web App.
