Hello Tech Pro,

When I try to install the license version of Microsoft Office package, I got this error message in the computer. For your information, before the installation I did the uninstall of all previous versions from the computer. Why it is not allowing me to install the license version? Am I going wrong anywhere? Please help. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

We found a problem!

We found a pre-release or Beta version of an Office product on your computer and can’t install because of it.

Please uninstall any pre-release Office software using the Programs and Features item in your Control Panel and try installing again.

Unable to install the license version of Microsoft Office package

Microsoft Office is a nice product but its main problem is, it can’t work with other beta or trial version easily. Those versions make confliction with the newer installation and so those are needed to be removed first. Only then, you can install your licensed version.

To do so,

  1. Go to Start menu >> Control Panel >> Programs >> Programs and Features.
  2. Find out older Office installation, right-click and select “Uninstall”.
  3. Follow the wizard.

If the problem still persists, uninstall the Office suite’s installation, .NET Framework, install .NET Framework 4.5.1 and run the setup.

Now, run the licensed version’s installation. It should work without any confliction.
