Unable to install laptop printer on Windows XP

I am running Windows XP 32-Bit and I am the Administrator of this computer.

The problem is when I tried to install a laptop printer, I always get an error.

I know that Windows XP doesn’t check for any rights before starting any installation. And maybe that is the reason for this error.

But how can I fix this? Help me please.

Installation failed.

The installation failed. A detailed log has been written to ControllerLog.txt. Select here to open the folder in Explorer.

You must have included a screen shot of that controllerlog.txt file for a better view. The log file must have something important to help resolve the issue. Now I would suggest few things in order to solve your issue.

  1. Try downloading the latest drivers from the manufacture website. Note down the printer model and download the respective driver from the website.
  2. Update all other drivers in your computer.
  3. Re install the windows xp. There might be a corrupted number of files that is causing the issue.
  4. Use Cclleaner to clean up all the extra registries from your computer.
  5. If you still got the error than there is no way other than to contact your vendor to provide the desired driver for the printer.
