Hello Marya,

  • I have a good news for you. FileMaker Pro 9 only isn't compatible with the earlier version of Windows XP. It Can, however, work on Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3.
  • So to use FileMaker 9, you must update your Windows XP to SP3 (the latest one).
  • If you have a very fast internet connection, you can download the SP3. For more information, go to Microsoft page (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/products/windows)
  • Or else, you can get Microsoft to ship the Windows XP SP3 installation to you, for free, as long as you have the original Windows XP. Just go to this page and fill some forms. Microsoft will try to validate you then they will send you the CD.
  • After you get the CD, upgrade your operating system.
  • After that you will be able to install FileMaker Pro 9 without problems 🙂
