Hello friends,

I have been trying to install the 3D CAD design software solidworks 2012 on my system. I have tried to install it many times, but every time, I am met with an error on my screen. The screenshot of the installing log file is as follows:

Internal error: The Windows Installer for this product component did not run as expected: 1903.

Contact Technical Support.

When contacting Technical Support about installation issues, you will need to provide the installation log files available in this directory. Use the button below to save your logs as a zip file for sending to your support representative.

I uninstalled my antivirus also and then tried to install solidworks again, but I got the same error. I don’t know what this error 1903 means. I have searched a lot for this, but all in vain. If anyone has any idea, please do let me know and help me in getting out of this bad situation. I am badly stuck.

Your comments are awaited.

Regards.

Hi,

First you have to check that is your subscription is on or off so you can access the KB. For this purpose, you can follow Solid Works Knowledge Base. Here, check ID: S-057711 as a solution ID.

Again this problem can occur because of Serial no validation

Install manager failed to do installing because of the lack of validity in serial key.

To do this, at first your internet connection should be checked.

Check the validity of your product key.

Here you may need the valid subscription. You can take help from your Solid Works Reseller

You can find other valid key from internet

Hello

I have found the solution for this problem but don’t really know what the cause of the problem is. To fix this one, you need to know about registry because you need to fix something there. To open the registry, just click start, then type to search box “regedit” then go to this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesmsiserverWOW64

Click the WOW64 at the right side then, Change the value from 1 to 0.

If the above solution doesn’t work, you can try this one, another solution is to delete windows update from 6/28/2011 and install it again. The installation should work. Good luck.
