Unable to get back the Skype history

I am using Lenovo Thinkpad T410 laptop with Windows 7 on it. I was using Skype with different Skype id and changed it recently.

I wanted to remove the unwanted temporary data related to the old Skype names. To do that I run the command %AppData% and in that went into Skype directory. Then I removed the folder with the old Skype name and my present folder thinking that it is temporary data only. But, unfortunately it cleared all my Skype history.

Why it is not able to restore the history, even after keeping the update folder Back? Please help.

Unfortunately, something in your action led to the deletion of all data in the history record.  
 
 
The fact is that your actions led to clearing all your Skype history since you stated that " I removed the folder with the old Skypename and my present folder [emphasis mine] thinking that it is temporary data only". You included the "present folder". The present folder included the present data, which you assumed as temporary. It implies that your present folder also covered the necessary Skype history, not only the temporary. You should have deleted only the folder that contains the old Skype name.
