Hello experts

I just copied a file to my desktop and then tried to bring it in into O.E., but I am getting the following error message that several people find. "No messages can be found in this folder or another application is running”

Need your help to solve this. Thanks.

Which version of outlook express are you using? Anyway this error is seen mostly because the file you are trying to import to outlook express has the read-only attribute set. Right click on the file and go down to properties to see if you can remove the read-only attribute. Just ensure that the file is on the desktop i.e. a writable disk and not on a cd/dvd.

Also ensure that the Folders.dbx file is present because the file will not be imported without a valid Folders.dbx file. If you do not have that file you need to exit and restart outlook express and it will be automatically created.

The error could also be due to corrupted Folders.dbx files. You can try to use 3rd party software to overcome the process of importing files onto outlook express. See the following example: http://www.pcvare.com/import-dbx.html

Hope this helps.
