Unable to edit program in eclipse

I think the program itself has a problem and not with the file you are editing. Try doing another clean installation of the software again to restore it to its default configuration and remove or fix any corrupted files that may have developed in the program in the long run.

Uninstall Eclipse from your computer then restart your system when asked. After booting, check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system.

For a much thorough diagnostics on the system, use a disk utility application like Norton Utilities, or Norton SystemWorks. Install the software again after this and then check it if this fixes it.

If you are using an old version of Eclipse, better try upgrading it to the latest version. You can download and install Eclipse 4.2 which is already available from its official web site. To download this version, you may visit eclipse — Eclipse Project 4.x Stream Downloads.
