Whenever I shutdown from Win 8, I am unable to boot my laptop to Win 7. I have to shut it down again just so that Win 7 will launch. I have a laptop with Dual Core T4400 92.2 GHz and 3 GB RAM. Any other work around?

Hi,

Looks like your default operating system is Windows 8, this was configured when you have installed. As I understood it, you want again to make Windows 7 boot automatically, right? So I think you need to set-up again or reconfigure your system to make Windows 7 the default operating system. To do this, follow these steps:

On the start menu, search “msconfig”>>On the “Boot” tab, select windows 7>> Click OK.

If you have actually a problem booting dual operating system (Windows 7 and 8), there could have been an error in your installation. For dual Windows to boot properly, both operating systems must be installed on separate partition. For more information, type on the start menu search box the key word: “Create and Format”.

I hope this helps.

You need to make windows 7 as your default operating system.

For this follow the steps below:

  • Open My Computer properties
  • Click on Advance System Settings
  • Then Click on Setting under Startup and Recovery field set
  • Here select Windows 7 as your default Operating System
  • Apply your settings and restart your Laptop.
