Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite L655 Laptop and its battery is not getting charged after upgrade to Windows 8.

When I hover the mouse over battery icon, it says "No Battery is Detected". When I had Windows 7 the battery use to be detected, but after upgrade to Windows 8.1, it is no longer recognizes the battery.Surprisingly, I can take the AC power off and the laptop will run on the battery, but it still shows that the battery is not detected.

Is this a problem with compatibility or some driver missing issue? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

This issue comes when you have not updated drivers of your device. Go to manufacturer site and check the exact drivers for your system.

If that doesn't solve the problem Change your AC adaptor and see if it's able to charge. Change your power plan settings as a workaround. Also you can try removing "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" from Device manager. Uninstalling this sometimes solves the issue. Don't uninstall any other power adaptor drivers.

Good luck..!!
