I am using Ulead Video Studio 11 which is a video and photo editor, animation and DVD authoring tool. I installed it on Windows Vista but I can’t capture a video because I only hear sound but I can’t see any picture. And when I try to end the capture or stop it I get the error message below. It says Capture failed so can anyone tell me how to resolve this.

The problem may be either with the cable connecting your cam to the PC or some hardware problem within the Pc.So, i would suggest to try changing the cable to check if the cables are working properly or using another PC.

If the cable and PC are ok then it might be a CoDec problem.

If you want to use Ulead VideoStudio 11 to capture a video from a webcam or camcorder, make sure the device is connected properly to the computer via USB cable or FireWire card. If this doesn’t work, try checking the system requirements and make sure your computer meets those requirements. Ulead VideoStudio 11 supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista.

It requires Intel Pentium 4 or faster processor, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB free space, and sound card. If your capture device is connected to a USB port, try transferring to another USB port. If this doesn’t work, try to uninstall and reinstall the driver of the hardware where your capture device is connected.

If you are connected to a FireWire card, uninstall and reinstall the driver or install the latest. If the problem continues, try to uninstall and reinstall Ulead VideoStudio 11. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo then select Ulead VideoStudio 11 among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo then install Ulead VideoStudio 11 back.
