CanoScan Scanner Error Code 201

Can anyone help me please? I am helping a friend on this concern. My friend’s CanoScan3000Fscanner had this error message appeared on his computer’s monitor when he did some scanning jobs saying “Error in scanner.

Turn off scanner and follow instructions in manual. Scanner driver will be closed.(Code: 201).” The available option directed me to click the OK button.

When I clicked it, this second error message occurred “There is a TWAIN error. Maybe the device is not connected.”

I had checked the cables and everything was normally mounted into its proper ports. I had already uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it hereafter but the same error appeared.

I had also visited the website of Cannon and had followed every detail on how I can fix the problem but I found it not helpful to my concern.

Any valuable help will be appreciated.

Hi Birdena,

Canon 3000f scanner is another scanner having the same feature as LiDE 20. It can be used to scan books and large bound documents. This is perfect for students.

With regard to the twain error is mainly connected with your scanner driver. This is the one responsible in connecting your computer and the scanner. One way to solve this problem is to uninstall and reinstall your scanner using the CD and by following everything on the Canon manual.

Just to set your expectations, Canon 3000f works better with Windows XP compared to Windows VII  (in case you are using Windows VII on your computer).

It seems that problem is related to your connection. It is possible that your computer is unable to communicate with your scanner or your scanner is not detected. Try transferring the connection to another USB port. Use all available USB ports to check the problem. A standard CPU includes four USB ports (4) by default plus one or more ports in the front panel if you have one.

If none of the ports work, try uninstalling the existing driver then download the latest software from the Canon website. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your Canon software among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then restart the computer. After booting, go to Canon CanoScan 3000F to download the driver. Here, select your correct operating system if the page detects the wrong platform.

Download all available software for your scanner then see if it works. If the problem continues, try using a different cable or purchase a new USB cable for your scanner.
