Hello James Richard,

Most people prefer to have auto-run feature on Windows, regardless what version your Operating System is. I myself, is annoyed whenever it runs because I can’t choose my desired options what to play and what not.

Here’s the tip to disabled auto-run feature and you need to log-in into the heart of your PC, where all the list of programs are installed.

  • Go to Start, Run and type gpedit.msc. This is the Administrative Templates and has a group policy for Windows where you can disabled other auto run features.
  • Look for System and expand the list and disabled the Auto play.

Thank you and feel free to contact us.

If you are using a Boot able CD then auto run will always run on that CD because there is a file in windows CD which is auto run file and it executes every time when you insert your CD in drive. You need to delete the file auto run if you don't want to run the windows automatically at start and it is not possible in case of CD drive.

You can use a non boot able CD for this purpose if you have or you can also download your window files to your drive to solve this problem it you need these files anytime. It is easy way to configure your problem the other solution is to look for the services and enabling them on any execute able file it is a critical process and can be done under services tab. But i hope you have now enough knowledge to solve your problem.
