I am trying to activate Office 2007 home and student on my new computer which is using Microsoft 8, 64bit, but it is just not working. It’s very frustrating. I purchased it two days ago. There’s no error message, but when I start Office, I again see the activation wizard asking me to do the activation.

From your explanation, I think the installation process might have been corrupt, because of which the wizard cannot recognize that installation has been completed.

Now, you should completely remove the Office 2007 from your laptop and install it all over again.

Also, re-check the product key you are entering. Make sure that you have not exceeded the number of computers your key was valid for( sometimes it’s 3, sometimes 4) Microsoft Office should work now.

According to Microsoft, Office 2007 is supported on Microsoft Windows 8. Also, you need a valid product key to be able to successfully activate the package. If you don’t have a product key, you need to purchase one from the Microsoft website. You cannot activate the product without a valid product key.

Activating Microsoft Office 2007 requires internet connection so make sure your internet connection is working when activating the product. Microsoft Office 2007 supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x including Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Though Office 2007 is no longer part of mainstream support and has not been tested on Microsoft Windows 10, according to Microsoft, Office 2007 will install and run on Microsoft Windows 10.
