Troubleshooting to access and view my iPad from a PC
Hi Katy, I believe I will be able to help you find a solution to the problem you are having.
When connecting your Ipad to the pc to transfer data, also known as syncing, you need to ensure the Ipad icon shows on your computer. You also need to ensure you connect it with i-tunes for the data transfer.
Verify that you install the latest version of iTunes available.
You may also consider restarting your Ipad. Ensure also the battery is charged, since a dead battery cannot also connect.
You can also go to Control Panel > open Administrative Tools >Services >Apple Mobile Device. Click to stop and then to restart the service.
It should now work if you test, but if it doesn't, do the following;
Uninstall and reinstall AMDS and iTunes from the computer by simply going to Control Panel and doing a normal uninstall; when you download and install the current version of iTunes, a fresh version of AMDS will be included.
