First thing with your problem; whatever maybe the version of your Internet Explorer, best is update the version of your Internet Explorer to the latest one. By doing it, try update the OS and IE using the Automatic updates. I recommend that you can manually download the latest version of IE from Microsoft website and install it. Here are some links that you can download it;

If you're having Win7 go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/download-ie.

If you're having XP go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaying=en&id=43

If you're having Vista go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22166

For downloading those just follow the instructions that comes with the screen. Hope you solve your problem.

Hi Armie,

Are you using the latest version? If not, try to download the latest version of Internet Explorer, which is IE9. You can download it for free. But if you are using the latest version of IE,then maybe the problem is on your proxy setting. You can configure your Proxy setting for the broadband connection to enable automatic detection.

Here are some steps:

  • Start Internet Explorer
  • Go to tools menu, and click Internet options
  • Click the connection tab
  • Under dial up and VPN setting, click the broadband connection
  • Click setting
  • Click automatically detect setting
  • Click Ok

There are so many ways to terminate a trouble in Internet explorer. As you have said, still you are facing problem after reinstalling the explorer. Actually  reinstalling will overwrite the Windows files but it won't touch the spyware files which will still be on your hard disk and used by IE. You have to get something to remove them. So, at first your computer need to be scanned with Adware & Spybot. Then you can reinstall it. Hopefully this is the best among many ways which will work for your problem. As this problem happens due to virus & spywares this is the another way you should try. First, download the WinsockFix Utility from the following link-

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/WinSockFix.shtml

Run it & click on the fix button which can take time & then restart your computer. Go to control panel-

1. choose network connections>Right click the LAN connection & click properties.

2. Now double click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" from the list in your general Tab & then re-enter the details as necessary.

I hope this will definitely solve your problem.

First off, make sure you have a fast internet connection. If Internet Explorer opens and closes instantly, the problem most probably is occurring because of low system memory or corrupted or missing system files.

Restart your computer so that the system memory is cleared up and try opening Internet Explorer again. If the problem still persists, reset all settings in Internet Explorer, disable add-ons and run Windows Update.

According to the problem that internet is connected but IE says not. First you completely check your Internet connection then if the problem remain same then go to your Internet connection refresh your IP address and repair your your Internet connection. Check this, If it not work go to your IE and type your IP address And login from  there you can reboot your router . It take about 2 or 3 min. I hope it work

If Internet Explorer opens but closes instantly, you might get an error message that Internet Explorer isn’t working or it might have encountered a problem and needs to close.

Now if you have a good internet connection, this problem might have been caused by low system memory or corrupted system files. Restart your computer and open the Internet Explorer. If the problem still persists, then disable the add-ons and reset Internet Explorer settings.

You might want to run Microsoft Safety Scanner to have it checked thoroughly for any problem that you cannot figure out. Also run Windows Update or download the latest version of Internet Explorer from the internet.

To resolve your problem, you need to reset Internet Explorer settings back to factory default settings. Click start, go to Control Panel. Make sure you are in Classic View, then find and open Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab and click Reset at the bottom right. But that's not all, you also have to clear the cache. Click the Content Tab and click on Clear SSL State under the Certificates category. You also have to make sure that the proxy setting is disabled. Click the Connections tab, click LAN settings and make sure that the only check mark is on the box for Automatically Detect Settings. Click OK and instead of just relaunching your browser, you can restart the computer to make sure all changes are applied.
