Trouble in opening video with QuickTime

I was opening a clip of video from my file, when an error plotted the screen saying, the file is unsupported thus movie cannot be played.

I removed QuickTime and installed it again, hoping that the system will be alright. But again, the same error is displayed on the monitor. What can I do to solve this problem.

Try converting your file format to QuickTime format, you can use MPEGStreamclip, this converter is free and user friendly. If this does not work, try to uninstall and then reinstall QuickTime. If still this does not work, what is the exact error message displayed upon prompt ?

It could be that your player lacks the needed codecs to play correctly. You can check the codecs that you might need, there are hundreds out there available, you just need to download the ones that you need so that your movie can play through QuickTime.

Another suggestion is, how about trying other movie players as well, VLC media player plays just about anything, its light and most importantly its FREE.
