I assume your files are larger than normal, otherwise they can be transferred by uploading them online. Two methods you can use:
1. Via LAN: This is extremely efficient if you have both computers connected via the same network. You just need to enable sharing in both computers and then transfer the files.
2. Connect the hard disk manually: For this, you need a little knowledge about the internal connections of computers. Just take out the hard disk of windows 7 PC and connect it to the windows 8.1 PC.
Then, transfer the files by copying and pasting between folders.
