I am looking for work around to display my Windows Media Player mini toolbar in my Windows 7. I tried some procedures gathered from the Internet but I have encountered errors during the process.

Here’s what I’ve got – the system says that if I continue, the toolbar might appear incorrectly. I don’t want to mess my desktop so I want an advice from you. What will happen after clicking the Yes button.

The Windows Media Player toolbar isn’t compatible with this version of Windows.

If you continue, the toolbar might appear incorrectly. To check for an updated version, go to the software publisher’s website.

Do you want this toolbar on your taskbar?

[yes] [no]

There is surely not any problem with your windows or with the any software of your computer. Recently Microsoft has removed some features from Windows 7. One of them is this windows media player toolbar. So now you can’t have the media player toolbar in your taskbar.

Some other features of internet explorer and windows explorer have also been removed from windows 7. So if now you see this type of message again just don’t worry about it.

Hope this will help you.

Hi Eloise,

Both programs and operating systems shall be compatible with each other. They become incompatible with each other when either programs or operating systems are undergone updates.

Your current Windows Media Player will not run with you operating system and by clicking yes you may crash your Windows Media Player.

I will advise you not to click yes.

You can simply try VLC media player than Windows Media Player.

Follow these steps –

1. Go to control panel/programs/uninstalling program/click right on mouse on Windows Media Player/uninstall

2. Download a free version of VLC Media Player – http://download.cnet.com/VLC-Media-Player-32-bit/3000-13632_4-10267151.html,

3. Download it,

4. Install,

5. Open the Media menu and select “Open File” option to open your audio/video file (See the picture below).

Enjoy your media!
