Toast Titanium Cannot Write Medium – Incompatible Format error

qa-featured

I have been having a recurring error with Toast Titanium.  Almost every time I burn a DVD, somewhere during the burning process, it fails with this error.  Can anyone tell me what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance.

The drive reported an error:

Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST

Sense Code = 0x30, 0x05

CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM – INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT

Roxio Toast 11 Titanium is like CyberLink DVD Suite where you can do a lot of things like watch a DVD movie, create different kinds of data discs and burn them in Blue-ray, HD DVD, DVD, and CD, create audio CDs or rip an audio CD, make a VCD, SVCD or DVD, copy different kinds of discs like Blue-ray, HD DVD, DVD and CD, create a backup of your hard drive, restore your computer, create and burn disc images. With Roxio Toast 11 Titanium, you can grab any videos and music playing on your Mac, copy discs like CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs and you can even copy a dual-layer DVD-video disc on to a 4.7 GB single-layer disc, convert videos to different formats which can be copied and played in different media gadgets, share and publish videos to YouTube, Facebook, or Vimeo, and lastly, burn different media contents on to a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray disc.

If you are using a different version of this application, you can download Roxio Toast 11 Titanium in http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/toast/titanium/.

Roxio Toast 11 Titanium system requirements:

  • Intel processor
  • Mac OS X 10.5, 10.6, or 10.7
  • 1 GB RAM, 2 GB recommended
  • 1 GB free hard disk space, 5 GB recommended for Pro
  • Compatible NVIDIA video card for VideoBoost which requires 4 GB of RAM for its optimal performance
  • DVD drive

Since you are having a recurring problem when using this application, you might want to check the above system specifications if it’s compatible with your computer. Before burning any disc, check first what type of optical drive you are using so you are sure the disc and the drive are compatible with each other. If you are using a CD drive, you can only burn CDs. But if you are using a DVD drive, you can burn CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs.
