TM Officescan already installed when try to reinstall

Our office had installed this TM Office Scan but after a few weeks when I open it, all of the things are greyed out and it says real time has scanned stopped,

So I tried to re-install it, I remove it in the add remove programs and its physical folders but when I try to install it again it is giving the error it is already installed. Help please!

Hello Jody,

When trying to re-install the Trend Micro OfficeScan program, you got an error message telling you that you already had that program installed on your computer. To resolve that issue, you will need to do the following:

  • Just for confirmation, go to the control panel and make sure that the program has been removed.
  • After that go to C:Program Files and check for a Trend Micro OfficeScan folder.
  • Delete that folder will its contents in case it is there.
  • After running Cleaner to remove all files associated with Trend Micro OfficeScan as well as fix problems with registry entries.
  • And then try re-installing it.

The following steps are how to manually uninstall and remove Trend Micro OfficeScan:
 
1. Click Start and click Run.
2. Type "services.msc".
3. Locate and Stop these services: OfficeScanNT Listener, OfficeScanNT RealTimeScan, OfficeScanNT Personal Firewall (if only enabled)
 
 
4. Open the Registry Editor by clicking Start, click Run then type regedit.exe.
5. Look for this registry entry:
ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services
6. Remove these entries (if available): Ntrtscan, Tmlisten, TmFilter, VSApiNt, TMPreFilter, TM_CFW, OfcPfwSvc
7. Look for this registry entry:
ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE TrendMicro
8. Remove the following entries (if available): OfcWatchDog, Pc-cillinNTCorp or OfficeScanCorp (depending on the client), RemoteAgent, PC-cillin, CFW
9. Look for this registry entry:
ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersionRun
10. Remove the OfficeScanNT Monitor key.
11. Look for this registry entry:
ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersionUninstall
12. Remove the OfficeScanNT key.
13. Close the registry editor.
14. Click Start > Programs.
15. Right-click OfficeScan (Trend Micro OfficeScan Client) program group then click Delete.
16. Click Start > My Computer > Drive C: > Program Files.
17. Look for folders that contain OfficeScan Client files.
18. Restart your computer.
 
After applying this method, try to re-install the Trend Micro OfficeScan software.
